UNIFORM POLICY/DRESS CODE

       Vista General Hygiene, Grooming, and Dress Code Guidelines 
    Students are required to be properly and neatly dressed in full approved uniform when entering the school building, and in full approved uniform when leaving the school building.  This includes those students with PE/dance classes first or last hour. 
    Uniforms must be clean, odor-free, and in good repair.  Under no circumstances may students write on, cut up, deface, or add to their uniforms in any way.  This includes frayed or stapled hems and slit or frayed pant legs. Uniforms are required to be worn as the manufacturer intended.  Oversized or undersized clothes are not in uniform, including excessive bagginess or anything too tight or revealing.  For example, Aeropostale brand polos are not approved due to their fit being excessively tight.
                                               VISTA UNIFORMS 
Shirts: 
  • navy, white, red, or lemon yellow polos (no logos, other than the non-required Vista logo)
  • white button up shirts (girls)
  • long or short sleeves
  • no layering of shirts
  • underwear and undershirts may not be visible at any time
  • Vista's approved dance/PE uniform may be worn under the school uniform but may not be visible
 Pants/Shorts/Capri's/Skirts/Jumpers:
  • navy or kahaki
  • no outside pockets/no cargos
  • no shorter than 2" above the knee
Shoes:
  • solid black or brown
  • stitching, laces, and soles must match the shoe color
  • closed toe and heels
  • no heelies, boots, or sandals
  • no heels higher than 1"
Socks:
  • socks must be worn
  • navy, white, khaki, or black
  • any length
  • no nylons 
Belts:
  • black or brown
Accessories:
  • should be conservative
  • no spikes
  • up to 2 bracelets
  • up to 2 necklaces
  • girls may wear one pair of earrings
  • boys may not wear any earrings
  • no hats, caps, visors, scarves, bandanas, sunglasses
Hair/Makeup:
  • girls may wear minimal makeup and nail polish
  • no colored hair extensions or hair feathers
  • hair must be neatly groomed and a natural color
  • highlights must be a natural color
  • boys bangs should not extend below the eyebrow
  • boys hair should not extend below the top of the collar, and must be off or kept behind the ears
Backpacks:
  • navy, red, or black
Lunchboxes: 
  • any color or style
  •  graphics or text  must be appropriate for school
Sweaters/Sweatshirts/Cardigans/V-neck Vests:
  • navy
  • girls sweaters can be either navy or white
Coats/Jackets:
  • any color or style may be worn outside the school building , but NO logos on outerwear, with the exception of the Vista logo 
  • they may only be worn inside if solid navy in color
Vista's Performance Uniform:
  • long navy pants
  • white short sleeved polo 
4th -8th Grade Dance Uniforms
  • ballet slippers (Girls=pink, Boys=black)
  • girls- black leotard and pink close-toe ballet tights (or)                                                                                                                                        black cap sleeve top and black biker shorts with bare legs or black leggings (or)                                                                                       black leotard and biker shorts, with or without ballet skirt, bare legs
  • no spaghetti straps, bra straps, spankies, or booty-shorts
  • boys- black athletic shorts (black bikers underneath) and black T-shirt
                                           UNIFORM ENFORCEMENT
    • 1st uniform infraction- parent notification by note
    • Repeated infraction- parent will be required to immediately bring student approved uniform item to the school
