Welcome to the 2011-2012 School Year
Below you will find important information concerning the upcoming year.
School Hours:
1st- 8th Grades
Monday–Thursday: 8:25 a.m.- 3:05 p.m. with OEC (Optional Extended Classes) and VCC (Vista Conservatory Classes) starting at 3:05 p.m.
Fridays: 8:25 a.m.-12:35 p.m. with OEC (Optional Extended Classes) and VCC (Vista Conservatory Classes) starting at 12:35 p.m.
Early Out Days: 8:25 a.m–12:35 p.m.
Kindergarten Times: a.m. 8:25–11:25 : p.m. 12:05–3:05
Fridays and Early Out Days: a.m. 8:25–10:20 : p.m.10:40–12:35
Office Hours:
To be more efficient and better serve our Parents and Students we have decided to utilize only the main office. All other doors will remain locked during school hours. Please remember you must check-in and out at the office anytime you visit.

Immunizations:
All 7th grade students need to provide proof of tetanus booster NO LATER than September 16th.
Uniforms:
Detailed information on uniforms can be found at vistautah.com. Please note that each student needs to be in full approved uniform when entering the school building and in full approved uniform when leaving the school building. This includes those students with PE/dance classes first and/or last hour. Class uniforms may be worn under the approved school uniform.
Lost and Found:
Lost and found for electronics, glasses, money, and apparent valuables will be in the office. All other items will be taken to the lost and found bucket located by the piano lab. Please remind your student(s) to look for any missing items each day. Every Friday ALL lost and found items will be taken to the DI.
Transportation:
Vista does not receive funding for transportation. Therefore, transportation is the responsibility of parents. You can obtain information regarding VTO (Vista Transportation Organization) at vistautah.com.
Lunches:
Vista does not receive funding for lunches. Therefore, there is no free or reduced lunch program offered. Students are welcome to bring lunch from home, (Microwaves are available for your convenience). Or you may purchase catered lunches from Katering Koncepts at www.kateringkoncepts.com.
Bikes and Scooters:
Bikes and Scooters must be properly placed in the bike racks. They will be locked up if they are left in unapproved locations. This year bike racks will be located along the fence on the North West corner of the Theater.
Electronic Devices:
No electronic devices may be used during school hours.

Contacting Your Student’s Teacher:
It is not appropriate for parents to interrupt classroom instruction by calling to speak with a teacher, or stopping by to see a teacher during school hours. You may email a teacher by using the teacher’s first initial, last name, at vistautah.com. They will get back with you after school has been dismissed.
Delivery Process:
Please keep a copy of your student’s schedule and bell schedule handy because ALL deliveries need the following information clearly marked on them:
Student Check-out process:
Only those authorized will be allowed to check students out. You may call ahead to have your student waiting in the office, or have them called out of class once you arrive. Student check-outs are not permitted during:

Please make sure to keep your contact information up-to-date. It is imperative we have correct information for the wellbeing of your child(ren). Also, Vista correspondence is done via email. It is necessary for you to regularly check emails and view vistautah.com for current events.

Attendance:
- The school building will be opened at 8:05; classrooms will be opened at 8:10 a.m. Please plan to have your student at school by 8:20. Students may be dropped off AFTER 8:05 a.m. and must be in their seats by 8:25 a.m.
- In order to excuse an absence, leave a message on the school’s attendance voicemail box.
- To promote a healthy school year DO NOT send your student to school if they have had a fever or rash within the last 24 hours. If necessary, you can make arrangements with your student’s teacher, via email, to have homework ready for pick-up at the front office.

- 1st uniform infraction- parent notification.
- Repeated infraction- parent will be required to immediately bring student approved uniform item to the school.

Phone Calls Home:
- Phone calls home for things like forgotten assignments, dance uniforms, or play dates will NOT be permitted. The front office staff will facilitate phone calls for emergencies.
Student Messages:
- To ensure delivery, messages must be called in 30 minutes before school dismissal.
- Messages will be delivered to your student’s last class of the day.
