Traffic Information

Zone Car Stickers will be passed out the first day of school in the parking lot.
K students please get a colored yarn for your backpack from your teacher at your assessment.
1st - 3rd grade students please know what zone you will be going to and get your colored yarn for your backpack from your last period teacher.
Parents please review the information below and let your student know which zone they should go to BEFORE they leave for school on Aug. 12th.

Traffic Procedures

Morning Traffic Procedures:

Traffic approaching Vista, traveling east, turning left into the school parking lot:

    • Make the left turn into the parking lot ONLY when the crossing guard is not in the crosswalk
    • Proceed left into the front unloading zone - Zone A 
    • Pull forward as far west as you can go - to the end of the sidewalk
    • Unload quickly - please have students ready to unload prior to entering the parking lot
    • Exit the parking lot by making a right hand turn
    • Continue west on Center to the round-a-bout on 200 East to turn around

Traffic Approaching Vista from the East turning right into the school parking lot:

    • Red/Blue Zone - Make a right turn into the parking lot ONLY when the crossing guard is not in the crosswalk
    • Continue right around the school
    • Drop off Red Zone  is in the back of the school
      • Pull into the marked lane to the left
      • Pull forward as far west as you can
      • Unload quickly  - please have students ready to unload prior to entering the parking lot
      • Proceed with caution when merging with through traffic going to Zone B2
      • Exit the parking lot by making a left hand turn
      • Continue west on Center to the round-a-bout on 200 East
    • Drop off Blue Zone  is on the West Theater side of the school
      • Stay in the right lane in the back of the school 
      • Pull forward as far south as you can go - to the end of the sidewalk
      • Unload quickly - please have students ready to unload prior to entering the parking lot
      • Exit the parking lot by making a right hand turn
      • Continue west on Center to the round-a-bout on 200 East
    • Alternate drop off option Zone C - avoid the parking lot
      • Traveling west on Center turn right on Park Avenue Way continue to the round-a-bout so that you are now facing the school
      • Students may walk down the paved path that you will find directly behind the school, through the back gate, follow the marked path on the school grass to the back crosswalk
      • Enter through the doors by the 5th grade

General Traffic Tips For Safety & Efficiency
      • Always go to the far end of the drop zone that you enter BEFORE unloading your student
      • Have students prepared to unload prior to entering the parking lot
      • Allow yourself at least 2 minutes to drop your student off at the school
      • Recommended arrival time to avoid tardies 8:08 - 8:18 am 
      • Outside School doors will all be open from 8:10 - 8:25 for easy student entry
      • 8:26 the school will be secured for the school day
      • All Morning drop-off will be single lane only
      • U-Turns are not allowed on most of this stretch of Center Street
      • Bike racks are found by the West Theater Entrance

Afternoon Traffic Pick-Up Procedures

Eastbound and Northbound Traffic - coming from West Ivins & Puerto Drive
  • carpools with K- 5th grade students turning left into the parking lot, or coming straight into the parking lot from Puerto Drive
  • continue left into the green zone 
  • use only the left entry lane to the parking lot - you will then be directed to one of the 2 loading lanes (the right entry lane must be left open for Red and Blue Zone traffic)
  • Kindergarten and 1st grade students will be ready to be picked up at 3:00 pm
Westbound Traffic Red Zone - coming from St. George
  • carpools with K-5th grade students turning right into the parking lot 
  • continue right around the school
  • use only the right entry lane to the parking lot
  • carpools with last name A-L pick-up in Red Zone (name determined by oldest in the carpool)
  • Kindergarten and 1st grade students will be ready to be picked up at 3:00 pm
Westbound Traffic Blue Zone - coming from St. George
  • carpools with K-5th grade students turning right into the parking lot
  • continue right around the school
  • use only the right entry lane to the parking lot
  • carpools with the last name M-Z pick-up in the Blue Zone (name determined by oldest in the carpool)
  • Kindergarten and 1st grade students will be ready to be picked up at 3:00 pm

Yellow Zone
  • ANY carpool that includes 6th, 7th, and 8th grade students, no change in procedures. PLEASE pull all the way forward.

ALL STUDENTS STILL WAITING FOR RIDES WILL BE MOVED TO THE GREEN ZONE AT 3:15 PM.

PLEASE PICK UP YOUR STUDENT BEFORE 3:15 PM. (Note - all cars in the parking lot are currently loaded and gone by 3:12 pm.)

General Pick-Up Procedures
    • All cars will exit the parking lot with a right hand turn
    • Please stay in your car - faculty members will bring your student to you - except Red Zone
    • A Colored Paper in your front window with the last name of the oldest student in the carpool will help faculty members find the right students faster - you can get a colored tag from the front office.
    • At 3:15 all students that have not been picked up will be brought to Green Zone 
    • Walkers will simply exit out the front doors and cross in the front crosswalks when dismissed from class
    • Please remind your student which Zone they are in.

All Red Zone Cars please arrive 5 minutes before the bell rings (K & 1st arrive 10 minutes before the bell), so that we can load and clear Red Zone.

Yellow Zone Cars please arrive 5 minutes after the bell rings, and proceed to the Red Zone behind the school (see map above).

Yellow Zone students will remain in the gym and then come through the halls to the Red Zone.

Green, Blue, and Red Zone students will all come through the halls to their zones and will be held in the hallways. The staff will utilize radios to help children load into their cars.
