Vista at Entrada Compact

Vista at Entrada wants to ensure that all VISTA students acquire the skills and knowledge they need to reach their full academic and social potential.  In order to reach this goal, staff, students and parents must each do their part to ensure the safety and learning of each student.

As a Vista at Entrada parent/guardian, I will do the following to support my child's learning:

  • Attend all scheduled parent/teacher conferences during the school year
  • Check my child's Homework daily
  • Read with and/or check that my child is reading independently every night
  • Check that my child is doing his/her homework every night and contact the classroom teachers if my child is struggling academically.
  • Be involved in your child’s education throughout the school year
  • Make sure my child attends school and arrives on time every day in accordance with the school’s schedule.
  • Make sure that my child is prepared to learn every day by only bringing in materials which are relevant, getting a good night's sleep and making sure that my child is able to eat breakfast before school.
  • Accept Vista at Entrada’s policies and procedures and work with the school staff to make sure that my child is following the school and class rules so as to protect the safety, feelings and rights of other students, staff, parents and him or herself.
  • Make sure my child's uniform is ready to wear every day.  Communicate regularly with school staff about my child's progress and work with my child's teacher to support the individualized instruction he/she is receiving
  • Treat other parents/guardians, students and staff with respect
  • Be direct and respectful in communication with all members of the school’s community

As a Vista at Entrada staff member, I will do the following to support student learning:

  • Provide a safe and positive learning environment
  • Provide students with a foundation so that they will one day become a thriving and successful member of the community
  • Maintain high academic expectations for all students
  • Assess students on a regular basis and work with parents to provide the best possible individualized instruction
  • Communicate regularly with parents through parent-teacher conferences, weekly progress reports, report cards, SIS, and other school activities
  • Support VISTA's behavioral policy, inform parents/ guardians if their child receives a disciplinary violation and reporting to the director any behavior that warrants further action.
  • Treat other staff, parents/guardians and students with respect
  • Be direct and respectful in communication with all members of Vista at Entrada

As a Vista at Entrada student, I will do the following to support my own learning:

  • Come to school prepared to learn by bringing in all relevant materials and leaving home any objects that will interfere with my learning.
  • Participate in all class and school activities and raise my hand if I have a question or do not understand something.
  • Attend school and arrive on time every day in accordance with my school’s schedule
  • Complete all class and homework assignments on time and putting in my best effort.
  • Read every night
  • Wear my school uniform and follow the uniform guidelines.
  • Follow school and class rules.  I understand that if I do not follow school and class rules a consequence will be given.
  • Be responsible for my own behavior and follow teachers' directions
  • Treat other students, parents/guardians and staff with respect
  • Behave to protect the safety, feelings and rights of other students, staff, parents and myself
  • Take pride in my grades and ask for help from my teacher if I need support or additional instruction after school.
