Vista School is delighted to participate in the Kids Read Now (KRN) program with The Utah State Board of Education. Kids Read Now is a non-profit organization focused on best practices for reading engagement and growth. As part of SB 127 (2022) Early Literacy Outcomes Improvement, funding has been allocated for a five-year program to get books into the homes of our K-3 students. We are excited to be joining for year 2 of the program.

Here is how the program works:

  1. A parent letter will be sent out to parents, introducing the program, and giving parents the opportunity of opting out of sharing their data with KRN.
  2. Any parents who opt out of data sharing will be reported to the school Title I Director so that their information is deleted from the CSV file being shared with KRN.
  3. Books will be self-selected by students with help from their teachers in April.
  4. During the summer, the four selected books will be sent to the homes of students.

We are excited to be able to provide this opportunity to so many students in school. If you have any questions, please reach out to our school Title I Director, Katelynn George, kgeorge@vistautah.com.
