Alison has 8 years of teaching experience and 12 years of directing experience in Washington County. She has been at Vista for the past year, teaching 6th grade Science and directing the Jr. Musicals for the past three years. She loves learning and teaching science concepts in a fun and hands-on way that helps students discover how these concepts connect to students personally. She has a Bachelor’s Degree in Elementary Education from Utah Tech University and both her Technology and ELL Endorsements from Southern Utah University. She is also the Performing Arts and Events Coordinator at Vista beginning 2023/2024. She is a mother of two amazing children, both Vista students and is married to Nick Schulz a computer programmer and video game designer who works at Inner Sloth, the creators of Among Us.
Alison loves to learn about and explore the world around her. She loves to hike in Snow Canyon State Park and visit the ocean as often as possible. Her hobbies include sewing, baking, crafts, board games and play testing her husband’s up and coming video games. What Alison loves most about Vista is the amazing people she gets to work with each day. The students are also so much fun to teach. They love art and music and that makes each lesson more enjoyable when we can integrate all of these passions together. What brings her the most joy in the classroom is when a student comes to love science and find meaning in the lessons we teach each day.
