Mrs. Ballif earned a journalism degree at the University of Utah and worked in the newspaper industry as a staff writer and editor for about ten years at The Salt Lake Tribune, Newspaper Agency Corporation and The Spectrum. She then became a mom to four boys with her husband, Scott, thus switching careers to stay-at-home mom, scout leader and advocate for children. As her boys grew up, Mrs. Ballif began working for the Special Education department at the Washington County School District and, as luck would have it, she found an opening at Vista about three years ago and has worked here since then, also in the Special Education department one-on-one with children with special needs. She loves her job and is very impressed with the wonderful people and students at Vista! Mrs. Ballif is currently writing a book and working toward her teacher’s license, with which she plans to become a Language Arts teacher holding journalism and English endorsements. Mrs. Ballif enjoys writing, socializing, gardening, hiking, animal husbandry, community service and parenting.
