B.A. Tech Ed (Double Major)

Eric Westland has taught everything from Architectural CAD to Algebra, from Woodshop to Web Design with the last 22 years being in technical subjects.  He started in the Seattle area (Marysville), teaching in 3 different buildings with grades ranging from 6-12. In 2004, he had the opportunity to accept a teaching position at Brussels American School (Brussels, Belgium), which serves families from about two dozen nations associated with NATO.  He and his family were just going to stay for a year or two, but when they discovered what the school could offer our own young children, we decided to stay until they graduated, and then some!

He and his wife returned to the states in 2016 to be closer to family and moved the St. George.  The quality atmosphere of Vista brought him back into the classroom in 2018, which worked out well as he had already lost his golf ball.  In addition to teaching, he’s built furniture commercially, built houses and even found time to build a 200 M.P.H. 4-seat airplane from a book.  He and his wonderful wife have two sons that have made it easy to be proud parents. The oldest is a Marine Captain and Naval Aviator. The youngest is a Coast Guard Lieutenant and currently training for his own Naval Wings of Gold.
