Bachelor’s Degree – Health Education Major
History Minor at BYU
Mrs. Burton graduated from Brigham Young University in 2001 with a major in Health Education and a minor in History. She has been a teacher for ten years, and has taught grades ranging from 6th to 12th. This year is Mrs. Burton’s sixth year at Vista School. She enjoys being at Vista because she believes Vista provides a unique environment where students feel socially and emotionally safe. In her opinion, Vista allows students to lose inhibitions they may feel at other schools and to truly be themselves. She can’t imagine any other profession for her that would be as emotionally fulfilling as being a teacher.
Mrs. Burton has been married for 18 years and has three daughters. She loves being a teacher during the school year, but you will only find her at Lake Powell during the summer. Some of her most favorite hobbies (outside of teaching) include swimming, wake surfing, CrossFit, scary movies, Mexican food, family, and laughing.
