EDUCATION:
BA in Elementary Education Dixie State University
This will be Kathy’s ninth year teaching at Vista. She taught first grade language arts for several years before accepting the position of Music and Visual Art teacher for our first, second, and third grade students. Vista’s creative vision and educational philosophy is a perfect fit for Kathy’s teaching and learning style. She finds great fulfillment and joy helping children excel in the arts and daily observing how the arts enrich the curriculum to educate the whole child. Before coming to Vista Kathy taught private piano lessons for over 25 years and has enjoyed organizing several children’s show choirs.
Together Kathy and her husband Ken have 6 children and 11 grandchildren. When she is not at Vista, she spends as much time as possible with her family enjoying hiking, swimming, playing her guitar, and trying new art projects.
