Lori has been teaching for 26 years. She has been at Vista for 13 years teaching Integrated Middle School Science, and for the last 3 years 9th grade Biology. She loves learning and teaching science concepts and how they connect with each of us personally. She has a Bachelor’s Degree in Communication and a Bachelor’s Degree in Education from Southern Utah University. Her Master’s Degree is in Curriculum and Instruction, and comes from the University of Nevada, Las Vegas. She also has an endorsement in Biology for secondary students. Lori also loves to teach dance, which she did for 13 years. Lori’s greatest joy is being a mother of three awesome sons who also attended Vista in their youth. She is married to Cascade McConnell who teaches mathematics at Dixie High School. Lori loves to learn about preventative medicine, to cook new foods, to spend time with her family traveling, backpacking and camping, and she enjoys watching good TV shows or movies and listening to great books. What Lori loves most about teaching at Vista is the amazing teachers and administration she gets to work with, and the high quality of the students. It makes her really happy to see students come to love science over the year and thank her for helping them.
